Assemble the Layers:
Dip the ladyfingers in the coffee (and rum, if using) on both sides (quick dip, don’t soak).
Arrange a layer of dipped ladyfingers in a serving dish.
Spread a layer of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers.
Repeat with another layer of ladyfingers and mascarpone.
Chill and Dust:
Refrigerate the tiramisu for at least 4 hours (overnight is even better) to allow flavors to meld.
Before serving, dust the top with unsweetened cocoa powder.

Tips:
Let the zabaglione (egg yolk mixture) cool to room temperature before folding in the whipped cream.
Whipping the cream after the zabaglione has cooled prevents separation.
Enjoy your authentic tiramisu! Buon appetito! 🇮🇹🍰
